Cancelling sky
I will be contacting sky later today to cancel my TV, broadband and phone package. What I'm hoping for, is that they will offer me a deal of some sort.
Does anyone have any tips on the best way of doing this?

do you have an alternative , virgin for example?
we dont have cable in our area & sky know this so didnt really budge much, i think i got movies for the 3 months free or something similar.. |

My tip is never accept their first offer! On first ringing they will offer you a slight discount but that is definitely not the best you will get. Turn that down and ask them to put your cancellation through. From there you have 30ish days until you are actually cut off. In that time you will no doubt be contacted again with a better offer (when I did it I managed to get my monthly subscription cut from £120 to £60. Also if you download the Sky service app to your phone you will probably find you will be pushed through an offer via there too.

My mil has had the same account with sky for 20 years she called them to discuss any offers etc as her broadband speed is terrible. They weren't interested so she's left sky and has now gone elsewhere

I gave notice when i seperated from my husband and explained I couldn't justify the cost of the package, they offered me reduced cost but I said I didn't want to commit to anything until I knew my financial position. They rang back 3 days before termination and have gave me it free for 10 months. Good luck

Also, if you find haggling on the phone difficult try their live chat option. I managed to get 40% off my contract and they gave me Sky Q for nout. Well happy with that.

 this has been discussed and agreed on I have alternatives available. Virgin and BT are both available and with their offers are a lot cheaper. Thanks for the link, some of you have had great deals. Here's hoping.
