Mobile Kennedy Launch - anywhere nice to watch from outside? Beach? Restaurant? Car park?!

We've just arrived & found out there is a launch at 7.45 this evening, we are not ready for a 'day out' at the Space Center but would love to catch as much of the launch as possible. Our littlest is 3, and a handful, so we were thinking of driving out there, pulling up somewhere to watch, and maybe having a meal somewhere (Longhorn style restaurant? Or McDonalds if we have to!)
Any suggestions would be great thank you x

There's a Longhorn on Cocoa Beach right across from the Merritt Square Mall on 520. If you go out to the beach right at the end of 520 you'll be able to see from there.

There's a restaurant at Cocoa Beach Pier too, where you can sit, eat, drink and watch all at the same time.

Edited at 09:02 PM.

Not sure where to head to so you'd get a better view, but just to say, one time we were in Orlando watching the live televised launch of a rocket on TV - and watching the rocket go up at the same time!

It was by no means a good or clear view but we could definitely see it, going straight upwards!

I'd love to see one a bit closer up

Rockets these days are nothing like the shuttles. You really need to get closer to have a good view.

Thank you so much!
When it says 7.45, is that the actual scheduled time for launch? As in 3..2..1 😂
Or 7.45 they start it all off, then faffing then it goes up within the hour? 🙈

How close can we get by car? Forget the food, we can drive on after, just somewhere to park & view? Thanks

You can park anywhere, you're not going to get on the air force base. Just drive over to Cocoa, you can stop on a causeway or go right to the beach.
