Magic Kingdom first day?

Hi all,

We arrive on a Thursday afternoon and were planning on doing rope drop on the Friday at Magic Kingdom. However MK has EMH in the morning for 1 hour. Would that significantly alter our wait times for the day and make the park much busier?

Would you still recommend doing MK that day as its the first time my kids have been to Florida (8,7,5)

Cheers

Ben

Are you able to take advantage of EMH? As in are you staying on site and able to get to the MK prior to EMH opening? If not I would be tempted to skip it, it will make wait times busier and the benefits of rope drop (for non emh guests) will be reduced.
If you can make EMH I would say go for it, if by midday it is starting to get busy park hop to another park.

Thanks. We are staying offsite, which is why I was worried as we wouldnt be able to take advantage of EMH.

Would you say then that we shouldnt do MK until maybe the monday then as it gets very busy at weekends doesnt it?

I suppose one thing we could do is maybe do a different park in the morning and then go to MK in the afternoon/evening for the fireworks?

Definitely avoid parks which have EMH if you are offsite and I don't reckon you will make the fireworks first day so I would say go to which ever park is recommended in the busy day guide. You don't need to avoid MK at weekends if it is recommended only the water parks should definitely be avoided on the weekends. Hope that helps have a fantastic time

I would check the busy day guide on here, or if you have a specific date in mind I like the touring plans crowd calendar, I use that to plan what days I visit each park.

Thank you. We are staying at Blue Heron Beach resort so will get a decent view of the fireworks while the kids are completely knackered in bed.

If offsite it would be best to avoid Magic Kingdom with EMH as it will be busy by the time you get there.
I would do MK on the Saturday though as you'll be up early so as long as you get there for rope drop I think it's worth it for a few hours.

We always have to go to MK first day, even if it's a quick visit to walk up Main St looking at the castle and a stroll round to soak up the atmosphere
