Christmas with young children...
Thinking of Christmas and new year 2018.
It will be my daughters (9 will be at the time) 3rd visit to wdw and my sons (3 will be at the time) 2nd visit. (We will be going in June 2018 aswell) I know it's an incredibly busy time, and the parks on Christmas and NYE are packed, but have people taken their children this young and still enjoyed it? We spent this Christmas at DLP (big difference I know) and thoroughly enjoyed it, went on everything we wanted, avoided the crowds by going in the morning etc. Actually a very pleasant trip, especially as it was our 1 year old first holiday. I've always wanted to go to wdw at Christmas and new year but just unsure whether we all will enjoy it. Experiences welcome! |

The first time we took our DD was at Christmas when she was 3, turning 4 on holiday. We had an amazing time. Just go with the expectation that you won't be able to do everything! Get to the parks early, make use of FP, and make ADR's for the main holiday days if you are going to be in the parks as the lines for the CS places were very long.
Allow plenty of time to get places. Not just on the roads, which are busier, but in the parks too. Because of the sheer volume of people it can take time to walk places! The Christmas decorations are fantastic in the parks, and take some time to look around the resorts too - especially the GF, WL, BC and Contemporary as they are decorated beautifully. HTH

You'll get split responses on this! Some people say "never again" due to the crowds (and sometimes the weather can be cold), and others say it's magical.
I'm in the magical group, but we've been lucky enough to go quite a few times so the rides aren't the main draw for us any more; we just like mooching around. On NYE this year just gone, there were lines of over three hours for Soarin' and Test Track, but we spent the day just wandering about. Not sure whether I would have enjoyed it quite so much with younger ones, but it was great for us as our DDs are grown up now.
