In my experience, you don't have to spend a lot of money to get a really good steak. I had a lovely steak in Ponderosa once, cheap and cheerful, but far nicer than anything I've had in the UK. Gaucho Grill is too expensive, £40 for the steak then extra for chips and sides!

48 posts for one of those unmentionable places to turn up. Not bad, but it shows the thread has run its course.

A beef steak meal ( other meats are available) is not a big thing in the USA ( I didn't realise it is here) and you can eat good beef steak in most restaurants as long as you don't go silly cheap.

We went Ponderosa when we visited a few years ago, and was possibly the worst steak I've ever had! Put us off ponderosa from now on.
Shows that everyone is different!
