We thought it was good for couple of nights. 3 mins walk to the lovely Clearwater beach; a great restaurant on the beach close by and 10 mins max walk into town. We would stay there again.

Had a rethink and changed our plans, now doing the first 4 nights in AMI then the rest in the villa ... Maybe a run up the coast to have a good look at St Petes and Clearwater

Glad I stumbled upon this thread, have been debating whether to book island cay for one night as we land at Tampa and can't get in our villa until the next day, so will be nice to do some beach stuff and have a nice meal on our first night then drive to West Haven.

Thank you Dibbers!

Recommend the Palm Pavilion restaurant on the beach. Have a lovely meal watching the sun go down

Thank you for the recommendation, we will give it a try!

We have the two bedroom apartment aswell, worked out cheaper than two separate hotel rooms as there are four of us.

Can't wait!

It took us an hour and forty minutes when we last did it. If you book the seascreamer you can park in the marina cheaply. The water is warmer at St Petes beach btw.

Hi all, we are just back from honeymoon and we spent 4 nights at the start of our holiday at Island Cay. Can highly recommend it for a few nights stay. The place is absolutely spotless and staff were v nice to deal with, a nice quiet place. Beach is just across the road and only a few minutes walk into town and down by the pier. The palm pavillon restaurant is a couple of minutes walks down the road where you can have dinner watching the sunset but our absolute favourite restaurant was Clearsky where we ate twice during our stay, was fab. We did the seascreamer one day which was great fun but didn't see many dolphins. We also drove over to Sand Key park another day which is only a 5 min drive and has a nice beach and park area and there are also some other nice restaurants around.

It's easily achieved in a day. It's an easy run. We've been to Orlando 7 times and I think there's only once we've not been to Clearwater. It's well worth the trip.
