Flew back this morning/last night from Atlanta PE 24 A and C. Im a big guy and the man in front reclined fully. Not an issue as I do exactly the same without any qualms. If I needed to use the footrest, I had to jam my knees in to the seat when I was reclined fully. When I stuck my legs to the sides of his seat, I had them outstretched fully when I was nearly lying down. Im 5 11.
To answer the OPs question, Its worth every single penny. Dont worry about recline, its yours and the passenger in fronts God given right. Bear in mind of course, that in Economy, the recline is minimal, so Econ isnt a bad product, but Id go PE every time |

just eat well before you leave as the food inbound is totally inedible my only other complaint is if the person in front of you does fully recline its hard to get out of your seat unless you have the aisle

I just pull myself up. I really have no problem doing that. Its to be expected , if youre the recliner. You need to ask the Stewardess to move them forward at mealtimes, but if you want to get out and the recliner is fully back, then use their seat as a lever to pull yourself up. If it happens to me, I dont see the problem with anybody pulling my seat

In my opinion PE has a number of benefits, which can be very beneficial for us.
38" legroom wider seats greater recline and footstool (all above good for me as I get older) priority check in desk 2 cases free seat selection (a great perk if you don't like the added cost) real dishes ? . and hopefully first off at MCO Partner airlines Delta, possibly air france, sometimes have better deals than virgin (last few seats on flight etc.), and using expedia etc. with quidco can enhance further. With Delta make sure seat is premium select "G" I think". We luckily managed to pick up return PE early July from Glasgow last week for £847, with an additional £40 ish from cashback. The Virgin eco price was £1200, PE £1300.

Free seat selection in Virgin economy too (unless you choose the "light" option without luggage)

Thanks for correction, I was tracking Tui, TC and virgin prices, just assumed it was only economy delight that had seat choice...Don’t tell my better half as it was one of the arguments I used to help convince her to book 😀
