Mobile UK may get a better exchange rate

Read this today
The U.S. economyOpens a New Window. is heading into a free fall that will be worse than the Great Recession of 2008, according to Euro Pacific Capital CEOOpens a New Window. Peter Schiff.
We should get a better pound to dollar exchange rate but also could depend on what happens if we get the no deal brexit

I would take caution on hoping for a US recession...many companies and their supply chains could go under, including some which we might rely on for our holidays.

That all said, APNews suggests the American economy is in better shape than 2008 and so the effects of any recession might be reduced in comparison to ten years ago.

If there is nothing I can do about it then there's no point wasting time thinking about it- got our money at $1.30 back in April so I'm happy with that.
Hearing all the things that may happen to our world coming up sounds like we are all doomed anyway!

I wouldn't wish a recession on any country, especially not just to get a cheaper holiday.

You've a while before you go so hopefully things will have picked up for you by then. We were planning to go to the USA in the next 6-9 months but have decided not to worry about the exchange rate and to cut the holiday short by a couple of days saving on hotels and general spends to make up for the poor rate.

That was my immediate thought plus... recessions have a habit of spreading across the globe... might not be any holidays

That was my first thought, nobody benefits from a struggling US economy.

I think the exchange rate will be different tomorrow from what it is today.
