Virgin flight - upgrade - should I do it?

Flying with Virgin next year. Economy classic. We now have the possibility to upgrade to Premium Economy, for the return leg only, for 150 each (so 450 total). Do you think that's a good price? Is it worth it?

I'm considering it as we will have a minimum 3.5 hours drive home from Gatwick when we return, and it will be an overnight flight, so it would be good to give husband a decent chance to get some sleep in. Those that have done it, do you find it easier to sleep in PE on Virgin flights?

Id say that seems a good price, but if it were me Id check first (if this is important to you) that you can get seats together x

I do love PE but Im not convinced I slept any better. It is more comfortable though so I dont think my lack of sleep was related to seat comfort.
If 450 is doable I would definitely upgrade. Its just a much nicer experience plus youll get additional baggage on that flight.

150 seems to be the average price for a return - do you have any miles that you can use?

Thanks. Can definitely get seats together (and yes, important for us as daughter is only 3).

It is doable, but it's still 450 one way, you know? We paid less than that, per person, for our original seats and I just wonder if it would be better spent during the holiday, rather than on the flight.

Or, if I should just get DH the upgrade by himself as he's the one who will be driving (and he's taller as well, so would benefit more from the extra legroom).

Arghh. Decisions, decisions!

No. This is our first flight abroad in years, and the last time I flew with Virgin was in 2008! lol. Obviously earning some for this flight, but they haven't been credited yet.

I would take it just to get the big seat, extra baggage allowance and getting on and off first.

Do it, this year when we turned up at MCO there was a long queue at virgin for the uk flights, with PE we could have skipped all that.

worth it for the extra baggage. Although the getting on and off the flight before everyone else is only really a bonus when you land in MCO.
