It’s quite good for theDibb too. Someone just asked where to get the waffles and I can leave a link like this
w3w.co/breakfasts.propeller.giggles This 3 word address refers to an exact 3m x 3m location. Tap the link or enter the 3 words into the free what3words app to find it. Which is much easier than trying to explain which bridge to cross. |

My sister has this & I did look at the app but I must begetting old I just don't understand it! If your lost or in an accident and needed to guide someone to you, wouldn't you have to have a signal to be able to use it anyway ?

It can find your location without needing any data. And in most places you can get a phone signal.
But if you are lost you need to be able to tell someone where you are and you don’t know. I’m next to a big fallen down tree in the forest isn’t very helpful. I’m at this precise 3x3 location is much more useful. |

I’ll give you an example. Years ago we were at a playpark by a river in a village we don’t know very well. A little girl fell off the slide and was knocked out. We rang for an ambulance but they needed to know a postcode or a street address. I only knew I was at the park in Rothbury.
If I could have told them Midwinter.spans.norms They could have found us straight away. Instead we wasted ages trying to find someone who knew where we were. w3w.co/midwinter.spans.norms |

I will have another look at it but half the time in our village we have no phone signal from any provider so I guess it would be pretty useless then & when we go to Canada we are only about 60 miles from the Artic wonder if it would work there!

DH found the bbc article on Thursday and we both downloaded it - had loads of fun looking up places we know. Agree it will be great for when we need to meet somewhere in Wdw
