San Diego creates a year of endeavour!

From the title of this section, I take it that all modelmaking can be include. I am big on Lego, but used to bigger on kids, to the extent that for a few years I used to commission work (Grand prix and other cars). Now it is simply a hobby again.

Well, the story is this. Last Easter we visited California and the USS Midway made a big impression on me. I returned home, determined to replicate what I had seen.. and then the problems started! There is no model in 1/350 of USS Midway in her current configuration.. or even near.

Whilst at San Diego, there were none of the 10 Nimitz class Carriers in port and this was a disappointment. I decided to build my own and this is the result of a years work. Hope you like it.

It is 1/350 and thus a metre or so long. The aircraft are around 4cm long. The kit came with around 20 aircraft, but now has the full compliment of 80, along with masses of photo etch, individual aircraft markings etc etc. What started as a £140 kit is now... quite a lot more.. around triple (I dare not cost it, but enjoyed every moment.
