I'm fortunate that I've never been a stresfull type of person with a job that isn't stressful( very busy and long hours since march)
So I'm taking this covid Crisis in my normal relaxed way.
My partner is a quite a bit more stressed this year and is fed up.
She says I'm so laid back I'm horizontal.
We had financial worries this year initially as my partner was changing jobs , then decided to not move but her current job then changed with half the hours . She changed jobs once already last year .so been a bit unerving for her to change jobs yet again few months ago to get her hours /income back up.
I've fully supported her in any job change.

I’ve tried my absolute best to stay positive throughout; we’re both serving so as a military family we are quite used to having to scrub and rescrub plans due to work.

But Saturday got to me, I can’t lie, part of me feels stupid as I should have seen it coming... but the other part of me is desperately disappointed. It is just one Christmas, I appreciate, but we don’t live down the road from my mum and dad, or my brother (who is also serving), so there’ll be no gift exchange from a distance.

They’ve missed so much of our 1 year olds first year (he’s now 14 months so we can’t have them as a support bubble) that the thought of having them see him at Christmas just kept me trucking on.

Perhaps I guess what makes it the most challenging is that a good number of us, when lockdown began in March, never imagined we may still be in this mess now. I guess that’s what I get for not choosing a career in science 😂
