In Ayrshire and the sun has just gone and we currently have hailstones thundering down! I thought it was supposed to be May - where is the nice weather?

I’m so fed up with the weather. I have 5 U.K. breaks booked this summer, it better perk up! Usually I think April and may are the nicest months so this doesn’t bode well!

Every year we take holidays in May. Usually we will be away and guaranteed the weather here has been fantastic. Not next week. Not the week we are off and in our own country (Scotland). We have 3 nights booked at a lovely country hotel and I’m starting to think about what winter clothes I will need to take.
Today I traveled from Aberdeen airport to Kirkwall. Sleet and snow delayed our departure by over an hour as the de icer machine broke down and they had to repair it.
It was gorgeous coming back into land at Aberdeen this evening but freezing.

I’d arranged for a delivery of 30 trays of bedding plants last week and postponed it due to the weather. The garden centre rang me this morning to say they were delivering today as the risk of night frosts had passed...only to be met with snow/hail about 2 hours after the delivery. Let’s see how they go (I wouldn’t mind but I hopefully won’t be here to look after them should I manage to get to Florida any time soon!).

The only consolation for me is the weather is even worse than the week before when we were in Whitby 🤣

You missed out the hail/snow stuff, maybe it passed you over?- we had it in Herne Bay after a massive flash of lightning which was followed almost immediately by an enormous thunderclap that rolled on for ages - I love thunderstorms but not when I'm sat in hubbies van outside the chipshop lol
