I have a turkey crown on my Asda delivery for tomorrow ... I’m not holding much hope on it coming if I’m honest, but if it doesn’t we have beef or gammon in freezer so I’ll make do and see how funny the substitution will be 🤪🤪

Our friend just did ours (we are isolating awaiting my results) she did it all in M&S with me on FaceTime 😏
The shelves were well stocked, managed to get all our veg, a ‘collections’ large beef sirloin roast and a small turkey crown plus a few extras. Job done.

When I worked for Asda they always had turkeys in the back up chiller for Home Shopping so hopefully they still do this.

DS has dropped my crown off today , he picked it up from Aldi where he works .
He says there is no more veg supplies being delivered as company who provides them has had to sell part of order to other supermarkets due to shortages, it may be because they are doing their usual veg price war ... everything 14p

I got my Maris Pipers yesterday, I did my first ever click and collect from Aldi . So glad I did as it was manic , the traffic light into the store was on red so people having to wait outside in the pouring rain

Just a quick trip to M&S for a few bits tomorrow and I’m done

That’s reassuring Thankyou, I think it said to order them early (before 23rd)when I did my shop a few weeks back, as long as it’s not been on a shelf since then cos I ordered back in November might be past it’s prime now

I collected my turkey crown this morning from Tesco - it looks a little on the small side for a crown that’s supposed to feed 9-11 people (there will be 9 of us - 6 in my family + my sister and 2 nephews), so going to make a sausagemeat, chestnut, sage & onion loaf in addition to the pigs in blankets, yorkshire puddings etc. I think the lady whose cooking vlogs I follow might also be a Dibber although i’m not 100% - I first stumbled on her vlogs when looking for Florida vlogs and watched her holiday prep vlogs. Anyway, her slow cooker sausagemeat/sage’n’onion loaf looks amazing (sorry for rambling!).
