I have just looked at the beginning of October and VA seems to be back to normal although a little higher than what I normally pay. As others have said hopefully Virgin are the first to start reducing prices and everyone else will follow and put some competition on prices.

We’ve booked a stand alone car hire with Virgin holidays in the nest as they have been best on price.

I’m looking to do the same for our July trip. My only concern is I can’t find what the cancellation policy would be for it? Has anyone booked and cancelled a car hire only with Virgin and had a refund?

The last one is not insured at all and needs a top up for everything sadly.

The first two I mention are fully insured and good to go. Nothing else needed at all.
yes was looking at just hiring the car got flights and hotel booked separate just needed to know if that was ALL the insurance i needed fully inclusive... dont want to be having to pay anything out if we had an accident ..Thankyou Mr Tom Morrow

I was looking for 2 weeks Mustang convertible for October, prices were the same £1700 with Alamo. I contacted Andy at Discount Florida car hire & was quoted £654 with Alamo, free cancellation & ammendments so I booked it!

Am I doing something really stupid because on the Virgin Holidays Car Hire website I can’t select the pick-up location as Orlando International airport. It only gives me the option of a few Orlando hotels or the Disney Car Care Center or Sanford airport? The prices from Sanford are the most competitive I’ve seen for our 4 week stay from 24 July for 3 minivans but we’re booked to land at MCO.

Ahhh, the VH website glitch that catches people out.

When you type in the location don't use a Capital O for Orlando use lower case. That way you get the airport location in the drop down menu

Not sure if it’s just me but I found VH slightly more expensive that going through the VA website for the same thing.

Lisa. You are spot on. It does happen quite a lot that VA is cheaper even though VH fulfils the contract. Most bizarre.

However I never use VH as their documents take ages to come through but with VA unless it’s a weekend they come through straight away. Plus the Miles track quicker.
