An admin in a Facebook group I’m in says she’s had it confirmed by Disney that over 18s require government ID, under 18s do not.

Until its official on the Disney website I wouldn't trust this. As said other major lines are requesting a passport. Disney Castmembers are saying different things to different people depending on who you talk to.
