Matalan tills

I haven't been to many shops lately but our matalan swap to mostly self serve after the 1st lockdown, wilko have done the same and Poundland usually only have the self serve till open. It seem more and more stores are forcing self serve on their customers and cutting staff jobs.

I've given up shopping in wilko as the tills constantly have issues and then the staff member come up right behind you almost touching you and breathing over your shoulder to sort it

No one in Matalan has lost there jobs but it does mean they can help more on shop floor or filling the stock. Like most places Matalan had lots of check outs but not enough staff to work all tills so made them self scan.

Living with a Matalan manager and myself working in banking with self service machines I know if you read the screens and don’t panic they work perfectly.

Returns are completed at a normal till
