Help - Visit to London from Glasgow

My daughters 18th this year and she is desperate to go to London.
Options - thinking of hard rock hotel London as location looks good but as I haven’t been to London since I was 7 I’m not sure best way to get there !
1. Fly from Glasgow to Luton Stan stead to Gatwick with EasyJet but how do I get into central London ? I’ve been Googling the airports to see the options - I see Gatwick do a train to Victoria which is only two miles from hotel so that could work ? But it’s off just now due to Covid
2. Train to Euston from Glasgow as Euston is central too.
Problem is - will be need to wear a mask on transport in August and if so would flying be better as not as long ?
Hard rock is £660 bb for four of us four nights -
If anyone has any other ideas of hotels in this price bracket that you could recommend as some as so expensive. Thanks so much in advance

We favour the train for that trip because the trip from the airport (any of them) can add at least an hour to the journey and the train fare from Luton or Stanstead can add quite a bit to the budget. Some trains from Glasgow are as little as 4 1/2 hours. Last time we went which was last March (yes, how we laughed as we squashed in a big crowd at the Royal Albert Hall and the flower market, not realising what was to come), we used the two together railcard and booked the advance train seats that are released about 12 weeks before the date - cost was £486 return for 4 adults in first class (we used tesco points for the two railcards).

Personally I'd take the train . Yes it's less time on the actual flight but factor in the check in time/ covid testing if still going on/ embarking/disembarking etc all time wearing a mask.
1st class seats on train, settle back read a book drink tea.

I would also use the train as it will take you straight into Euston. Have you looked at Travelzoo for hotel deals as I know they were doing a fantastic offer on the Hard Rock Hotel a few weeks ago.

Look at the operator's website for booking as you may get additional perks (especially if not in First) such as free wifi. Trainline tend not to have these, and often build commission into their prices.

Personally I get the Gatwick express to central London then use the underground easy to get a bout inworld stay just outside central London as it works out cheaper we stayed in travelogue in Wembley which was fine just A 15 to 20 minute walk to the tube then a tube ride in to central london

All so stayed at the travel lodge at kings cross just a 10 minute walk to the tube

Not sure of the make up of your party, but if one is under 16 it would be wise to buy a Family and friends railcard which will allow all overs 16s to travel at 33% off and 60% off kids. This discount also applies to London Underground Travelcards too.
