Feeling hopeful - when should I buy Universal tickets

So we have a trip booked for this October/November. We were just going to stay in Bonita Springs - but I am feeling hopeful today so we've booked 3 nights at Universal Royal Pacific at the end of the trip (obviously all refundable!). Was aiming to leave the purchase of the Universal tickets right to the last minute just incase it doesn't work out. It looks like this would be OK, as we don't have to pre book days at universal - but would like others opinions! Our first time at Universal since HP joined! With thanks in advance.

Under normal circumstances the price of tickets usually goes up at Easter and Autumn so I would have said get them as soon as you can. As these are not normal circumstances and having read some of the threads on here about the trouble that people have had getting money refunded for tickets that they can't use I'm not buying at the moment.
