I have recently returned curtains to John Lewis that I purchased before Xmas. No questions, no problems, immediate refund.

Quite a few stores have extended their Xmas policy due to lockdown. Initially it would have been a date in January but as shops have all been closed they are being helpful.

Yes , took a pair of Alexander McQueen shoes back to Flannels yesterday.

The shoes had only been worn twice but had literally fallen apart , couldn’t exchange online so we had to take them instore.

I think most stores extended to 30 days from re-opening, which is what they did last summer.

I’d double check the websites to be certain.

Just double check online what each stores policy is with Covid. The shops have been open since 12th April so shouldn’t be too busy now.

I returned a dress to last week M&S (purchases in December), the SA was awful, said the'd been open throughout so I should have returned before. I did get a refund but she was very huffy. I did comment that I wasn't aware they were open for clothes and shouldn't have been!

Hi, yes all M & S stores that sold clothes, homeware & beauty items as well as food continued to sell the former items during the most recent lockdown; they did the same throughout the first lockdown too.
The M & S stores we visited during both lockdowns had consolidated a selection of men’s, women’s & kids clothes, small homeware items & beauty items onto the ground floor so customers were able to buy the most common/popular items but limited access to that floor & the food hall only.

In England, it was acceptable & within the rules that any shop who sold food items & who also sold clothes, homeware & beauty items etc pre restrictions was allowed to continue doing so during lockdowns.
Similar to the likes of Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda etc who all continued to sell clothes in England during lockdown too.

M&S in London stayed open - a blessing to get clothes and other things so I can understand the assistant (it was clear on their website as I walked to Victoria and wanted to check first time) - it was legal for them to be open
