What to pack for the Staycation Cruise?

We’ve booked for September and it’s going to be our first ever cruise! We are binging you tube videos and wondering what we need to pack. As we’ve seen mention of formal and semi formal nights and pirate night.

With this being a different type of cruise I wondered if these things still stand? How much is too much when it comes to a 3 day cruise to nowhere!

No formal night, no pirate night, no sail away party - basically nothing which would encourage crowds.

However, although we don't know yet exactly what will be on offer, rest assured there will be plenty of activities to keep us all busy!

Oh. I’m hearing so much about what won’t be on and nothing about what they’re offering instead. What else will there be to do? Probably too cold for a 2 year old to splash pad, one show one time, no under 2s play area… what will I do to keep a two year old entertained all day do you think? And we won’t be doing the tastings or the evening bars or adult only stuff as baby’s bedtime is early. Beginning to wonder if we’ll just be toddling up and down corridors all day or playing with his own toys in the room? Oh dear. Wondering now if this isn’t such a good idea…

This is the thing - nobody knows yet exactly what will be happening. I'm sure DCL are working really hard behind the scenes to provide all sorts of safe and fun entertainment.

If you look at some Navigators from past cruises you will see that there are activities for all ages, all day every day!

Oh that makes sense re the crowds ... I guess I had hoped with reduced capacity they’d be able to do certain things. But yep nothing is really being said so it’s all just guess work

Hi,
Can we please stop advertising Facebook groups on these threads.
If you can answer questions asked then please do so here on the DIBB rather than sending members off to another website, otherwise we may aswell not have a dedicated cruise forum here on the DIBB.

Thank you for your understanding.

As it is your first cruise Mrs Pumpkin, I would suggest taking a lanyard of some sort to keep your Key To The World card in.

My packing list for this cruise will be slightly different to a regular DCL cruise but a few essential are below.

The plug sockets in the staterooms are not UK ones so you will need US to UK adapters.

If you are in an inside room, some kind of nightlight for midnight bathroom trips!

Even though there is no formal night, you may want to pack something a little bit dressier if you have booked Palo.

I take sea sick tablets with me and take one every night before bed as a preventative measure

We love to sit out on deck, even if it's chilly so I will be taking a hat for sure! If you have long hair, hair ties, head bands etc are essential out on deck. Even in the Caribbean it can be gusty out on deck.

Don't overpack (that's a note to myself as much as anything

I could go on and on but I'm sure others will chip in.
