Should I book now?!

Hi all,

I’m we have booked a week in Orlando, staying on site at universal. We wanted a day at Hollywood studios to experience galaxy’s edge. Obviously I’m aware there are no guarantees that we’ll be able to go and we are prepared for that. However, I have been looking at prices and the reservation process for Disney tickets and I notice that the week we are going (9-16 Oct), there are days when there is no availability for HS! I haven’t been to Disney for over 10 years so am out of touch. I wasn’t expecting to have to book so far in advance, the tickets are non refundable so if we can’t go we would lose this money. I don’t know what to do. I know things are far from the norm right now nor guaranteed, but wondered whether I should book now or wait it out. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you

I think it’s so busy because the 50th anniversary celebrations start on 1st October. You may find that availability will open up closer to the time, you just have to keep checking, but it’s not guaranteed.

Where are you checking the availability? We're planning to do Disney (and in particular HS) over the same dates as you, so I've been keeping an eye on the availability calendar in the sticky thread at top of main Trip Planning Florida section on here. As far as I can see, Oct still looks ok? The only date I can see with limited availability is the 1st.

I'm in big trouble if I've got this wrong! 😱

If you go into the MDE app and click the + go to buy tickets and it will say check park reservations, you can do it online too.
currently: those dates you have are good for now, but if you are wanting to go and make sure that they are available to you i would book your days in soon. HS is tending to book up alot more right now.

Hi, I’m looking on the Disney app, in the section where you can purchase tickets is an availability calendar. There are a few dates that are ok while we’re there. I just wasn’t expecting it to be an issue at all just yet!

I’ve been checking park availability now and again as I’m thinking of booking for the end of the year. Last time I looked it was only October that had limited availability.

October has limited availability as their 50th Anniversary celebrations start that month
