When was your first holiday abroad ?

I was four in 1968 and we went to the South of France in a caravan I think, might of been the only holiday with me, two brothers, my sister and parents. We flew with pan am who my dad worked for, what about others?

Not my first holiday, but my gran used to take me abroad when I was young, and had to sit at back of plane with all the smokers 😖

A 2 week school trip to Bruges in 1969 when I was in 2nd year at Secondary.
Watched the moon landing on a big screen in Trafalgar Square on a day stop in London before getting train home.

My honeymoon in 1980,on my 19th birthday. We went to Benidorm, it was back in the day when photographers snapped you getting off the plane 😳
We had matching perms 😂

I did a couple of day trips to France with school in the early 90s. But my first proper holiday abroad was Florida in 2005, I was 28.
We never went abroad as kids as we had a static caravan that we went to each weekend. My mum has never even owned a passport! I think that's why I try to go away as often as possible now.

I was probably about 7 and we went to Majorca. I remember being so scared on the flight there that I wouldn't eat or drink anything. I spend the whole two weeks worrying about the flight home. Nothing much changed in 40 odd years!

1988, 2 weeks in Benidorm when I was 10, we flew with Dan Air & stayed at what is now the hotel Bali, It was actually called Bali 1&2 at the time but nothing like what it is now, I remember the flight was so shaky & loud, there were 13 of us in total & we were all separated all over the plane 🛫

As "grown ups" it was Benidorm for us too, got snapped getting off the plane like Scotsmomma, only went for 4 nights as wasn't sure we would like it, of course we did and wished we had gone for the whole week. Read the q wong, would have been around 1979
