Avenue 5 - new space comedy - hugh laurie/armando ianucci

from the guys that brought you VEEP (and previously the thick of it/in the loop) comes a new show... AVENUE 5. its basically star trek crossed with veep!

watched the first episode last night and really enjoyed it. in particular zach woods (jared from silicon valley) playing assertive/nihilist jared is particularly great

my mate who is a massive sci-fi geek hated it (but is still going to give it a few more episodes, as pretty much all pilot episodes are usually a bad indicator of how good a show is) so YMMV. but if you like ianuccis previous stuff, you'll probably love this too. go watch!

I liked it as it was funny in parts, but I can see why a serious SciFi fan would think it was stupid! Will be watching the next episode to see how it grows on me.

I will follow for a few more episodes to see how it goes. It reminded me of Wall-E in a lot if respects (think it's when Wall-E etc get on the spaceship)

We watched it and thought it was really fantastic., such a great new slant on a Comedy. Love that the laughs are so subtle, right up my street.

Hopefully it will run and run
