Dine In A Virgin 747 At LHR 12th December 2020

My Son just sent me this. Sounds a great experience and dirt cheap for what you get.

Sadly numbers are very limited.

blog.virginatlantic/the-...ng-experience/

As our fleet of jumbos is retiring to make way for a younger, more sustainable fleet of Airbus A350-1000s and Boeing 787-9s, we’re allowing fans one final chance to step onboard the Queen of the Skies. Hosted at our Heathrow hangar on 12th December, visitors will experience a full aircraft tour, where they can delve below deck to explore areas of the plane the public rarely see, as well as a enjoy a sumptuous three-course onboard meal. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to The Trussell Trust.

Sip champagne on the aircraft’s upper deck, fondly known as ‘the bubble.’
– Savour a luxurious, three-course a-la-carte meal, inspired by our onboard cuisine, from the comfort of their own Upper Class suite.
-Hear first-hand what life was like at the controls of the Queen of the skies from the airline’s pilots, including Yvonne Kershaw, the first female pilot to Captain the 747.
-Take a hidden tour to the parts of the aircraft the public don’t usually see. Visit where the cabin crew and pilots sleep, delve into in the aircraft’s underbelly, explore the cargo hold and take a seat in the cockpit.
– Have a photo taken in one of the aircraft’s iconic red engines, as a souvenir from the day.

Our last Boeing 747-400, G-VROY, is estimated to make its final departure from London Heathrow on the 16th December.

It's £50, wish they'd done one at MAN too before Ruby Tuesday left.

That's amazing value! Right, just got to hope the kids go into school sharpish on Monday. My Dad has never been on a 747 and is sad that he's missed out, so this would be the most amazing early Christmast present for him. It's going to be tough to get a ticket I fear though!

That's a better price than I expected I'd have expected at least double that.

Ruby Tuesday was my favourite plane.

Me to. Lets be honest they could have charged £250 and probably still get the numbers they want.

I was getting ready to play fastest finger first on Monday but it probably won't count as essential travel from my Tier 3 area.

As a respected Travel Advisor in relation to fine dining I think it would be classed as a business trip so you will be ok.
