Daughter learning the hard way

Our daughter has just completed a degree in Biomedical Science. She's going onto a Masters in May 2021, in the meantime applying for every relevant role she (and I) can find.

She's missed out on a couple of closing dates by being too lazy to get her application in ASAP.

She landed herself a student support role at the college just up the road (literally it's about 1/4 mile away). She'll be able to fit this around her Masters too so it's a win win. She messed around and didn't get back to the HR dept to complete some pre work assessment. She got a letter this morning telling her the job offer had been withdrawn due to the delay.

Quick 'chat' with her, two choices - take the letter as read and final or get off her backside, pick up the phone and rescue the situation.

Thankfully she took choice two, although not a given it was worth a shot. They came straight back to her and said ignore the letter and we'll see you next week.

Like we said to her, we didn't get wise by knowing all the answers, you get wise by learning from the hard lessons.

It hasn't been the first mistake and won't be her last. Oh to be young again!

Every child needs guidance at times or a point in the right direction. Glad she has sorted it out.
