Tier 4 New Years Eve ...

Seams only like yesterday the 2 of us were in Orlando for new years eve, ( 2years ago) . Our only child free holiday in 10 years. Partner's daughter had gone sking with the school.
Normal in bed by 10pm and woke by fireworks at 12am and dog howling no doubt.

normally we go to a friends out in the middle of nowhere along with ~20 of our other friends and party till around 2:30am

this year, we've got a pack of special gummy bears and are taking 5 each every 4 hours starting at 10am

around 4ish, we're starting an open ended zoom chat that any of our friends can drop onto for an hour when it suits them. will probably start drinking around that point too

i'm fully expecting to be passed out in bed by 9pm

I’m working till 4, DH is starting at 7 till god knows when, so going to get some picky bits for dinner with the kids, watch a film and go to bed at usual time without feeling like I have to stay up to watch fireworks, bliss!

We’ll just have a nice meal in - i’m not sure what yet but I have a Lemon Roulade dessert from Sainsbury’s that’s not open yet, so that parts sorted. DH & I don’t usually stay up (unless we happen to still be watching a film or something). The other year DH & I went to bed, but eldest DS & DD stayed up on their own downstairs to see in the new year!

We should of been in Edinburgh at the street party but we will just have a take out and watch a film

Transferred our street party tickets to next year and I think if it goes ahead boy will it be a fabulous party

Ooooh! Open ended zoom drop in .. that may well be an idea!

There will only be us 2, and we usually go out for a meal with DB and SiL then home to Jools Holland and the fireworks on TV! I think this year it will be just something on TV and some nice nibbles with a few drinks, then bed by 11pm!

Next year will be some big party ... it will last all year if the vaccine has quick effects!

I think we have settled on an open zoom house early evening, invite lots of people expecting some to pop for a while, others just for a few minutes. Then when DS finishes his zoom with mates, we will watch a film before drinks tasting some cocktails!

I feel better now I have a plan!
