We rented an Airbnb condo, not far from the CN Tower, which did give us much more space than just a hotel room, and allowed DD to have her own room. It cost us less than a hotel room for the same number of nights.

When we visited Niagara, we rented a car to get there (as we were continuing up to Prince Edward County the following day), which took us a couple of hours. As well as visiting the falls (including the boat trip), we took the opportunity to visit Niagara on the Lake, which was a really nice place and the polar opposite of "downtown" Niagara.
Oh I’ll have a read through that thanks 👍🏻

As a family we visited Canada in 2016. A family consisting of 2 adults and 2 children aged 16 and 17. We used the UP express from the airport to the Delta hotel in Toronto recommended on here.(fantastic).
We hired a car and visited Niagara, Quebec City, Montreal and Ottawa.
We all loved Canada and would visit again. We did the free walking tours around the cities. Niagara was a highlight staying at the Embassy suites booked through the Hilton app choosing our own room overlooking the falls, another tip on here.

I went there 20 years ago! Crikey doesn't feel that long ago. Still remember it vividly. Never been so cold , was dec though. Niagara was so lovely partially frozen and covered in snow everywhere.
Stayed at a lovely hotel Westin harbour castle.
Did the CN tower and Eaton centre. Still got a t shirt I bought from there.

We went about 5 years ago, our kids were about 13 and 15. Absolutely loved it! We drove to Niagara Falls and did the Hornblower trip, drove to Niagara on the Lake, had a meal in the CN Tower in the revolving restaurant, went to Toronto Island and hired Surrey bikes, my boys went to watch the Blue Jays baseball and we shopped too! We had 3 nights before Orlando, could easily have spent longer there. Travelled in August, stayed at the King Edward Hotel.

We have been several times over the last few years. Usually stay at the Hilton or Sheraton Centre, depending on who has the best deals. Both are on the PATH, so very easy to get about. Some of the things we have done:
Niagara Falls
Niagara on the Lake
Fort York
Bata shoe museum
CN Tower
Toronto Islands
Black Creek Pioneer Village
Eaton Centre
Case Loma
City bus tour
Sky Dome
Ice Hockey game
Hockey Hall of Fame
Art Gallery of Ontario
Steam Whistle brewery tour
Toronto Museum
City Hall tour
Toronto zoo
There is loads of things to do, and it is a lovely city. There is no need for a car as everywhere is walkable, and parking costs are atrocious!

We love Canada! Toronto was our first Canada trip and it really made us want to see more of the country

Are you looking at only visiting Toronto or seeing other areas in the same trip too? We visited for 5 nights, but it would be really easy to visit other areas nearby too if you were organising a longer trip.

My trip report is in my signature, although we didn’t travel with children, so not sure how helpful it will be. It should give you a bit of a feel for the city though. We’d love to visit again.
