Got a week booked at Flamingo Land for the girls in the summer holidays to have something to look forward too. They love the animals and the free rides as were staying on the park. Not sure if the animals will be wearing masks though hahaha

Happy to try and help. I live just along the coast from Brighton and spend a lot of time there.

If you are looking to spend a bit of time in the area, you could look outside Brighton, either east or west, as there are plenty of great things to see in either direction, such as Arundel (with its wonderful castle) to the west and Lewes to the east.

The whole coast is very well-served by train, so it never takes long to get to Brighton itself, and the station isn't a long walk to any of the sights you're likely to want to see.

I'll make a booking in the very near future, as I suspect there will be a flood of people trying to do similar in the not-too-distant future.
What's the cancellation policy with airbnb in the UK. We booked an apartment last year (2020) in Spain and we cancelled about 8 or so weeks before due to covid and I think we lost about £150?

Looking increasingly likely we will end up using it.

Were from up North so Brighton is completely new to us. never done it before but we did Whitby last year and loved it so hoping if we need to do UK again, it will be a nice place.
The Holiday Inn on Brighton seafront is in a great location! The i360 is almost across the road and the remains of the West Pier close by. The sunset murmuration of the starlings is an astounding sight (Google/Youtube is your friend if you want a preview!).

And, it's only a few minutes stroll along the front to get to the Brighton Palace Pier with all its amusements and attractions.

It's down to the individual hosts to choose their terms. You can check "Flexible cancellation" as a filter when you search for properties to find those that give you what you want.

I found a lot that would allow cancellation at just 24 hours notice for no penalty. My guess is that a lot of hosts would rather have the bookings with that policy, than offer no cancellation terms and get no bookings as people don't want to take the risk.

I wouldn't book anything, the way things are going its not worth the disappointment of having to cancel last minute - a holiday should be something to look forward to.
As for the UK I am not willing to pay more for a caravan than we charge for our home in Florida

Booked our usual holiday cottage in the Helford River area for end of June. Very secluded ideal. Also booked a Mon-Fri break near Dartmouth Devon for September,as it's been on my to do list for ages. I don't feel ready to book foreign holidays yet, as husband is shielding so I think it will take a while for us to adjust out of the current set up. I can't wait to be able to go for a beach holiday again, height of the season to complain about being to hot

Even in a normal year I can't believe what people do pay for caravans, I am certainly not paying extra because of supply and demand. Not that caravans care my thing to be honest.

Hopefully we will at least get to knock the Mermaid at Rye off my bucket list and we are hoping to get to Weymouth with the siblings as a sentimental journey.

I haven't given up on Florida in June and Costa Rica in July yet. 🙏

We have just cancelled Lanzarote in July as we think even if travel is back on the cards it will be very different for a while.

Instead we have booked a cottage in Wells Next to the Sea for a week in August and also have plans for a week in a Caravan in Skipton and will also be breaking out the trusty Tent for as many weekends as we can fit in...

I lost my mum last year and with my inheritance I bought a new static caravan in Devon. So once this country opens up we do have that which I could really do with. Have discovered Exmouth is a lovely area. The park shouldn’t open until March so we aren’t missing anything yet.
