I agree however not sure it would be a huge sunrise for his wife or family to be honest

I feel he was pushed into making the announcement as I guess some newspaper may have been about to do the dirty and that is so sad (if true )

I wonder if he has waited so long to come out is in consideration of his family. His daughters are now old enough to understand and cope better with the fallout too.

It’s sad that so many people do feel they have to stay in unhappy or unfulfilling marriages. I do hope that Philip finds happiness now, I also really hope his wife, Steph, can too.

I guess the point is , it is still so hard and “big” coming out and it really shouldn’t be !
Weirdly marriages do sometimes survive this stuff . I know a woman (sorry Sussex ) who has been happily married for many years despite her wife having gone through gender reassignment in recent years , she says they are still the wonderful person as a woman they were as a man ... that it was rough at first but they are still happy . Not for everyone obviously but people can surprise you.

Loads of these announcements are because the tabloids are about to expose the person. I am suspicious that he has been threatened with exposure by the press and him/his agent thought to break the news himself would be much better. Sad that the press think these stories are still sensationalist in this day and age.
