Yeah, it was typical for him really, he always made me feel unwanted. He stopped speaking to me after I left school, haven’t heard from him since.

I have an amazing partner though and his family are equally amazing, they always make me feel wanted at Christmas and they really try to hard to buy me thoughtful gifts, which really is lovely! ☺️

I’ll know if I ever upset the mother in law because I’ll receive ugly brown socks!

It’s great that you have met such a wonderful partner with a great family. My wife’s father has never been in her life at any age and is the most selfish man I have every known. He lived literally a mile away when we had our son (his first grandchild) and not even a card from him (there has never been a falling out but he is all for himself and has no interest in his kids or grandchildren). Fortunately my wife also met and married a wonderful man who spoils her with £10 Superdrug gift cards at Christmas
