We stayed here too and would happily recommend, hotels in San Fran are so expensive and this fit the bill perfect for us, 2 adults and 1 x 13 year old

We have stayed at Columbus Inn, and Zepher. Liked both and would gladly stay at either again, although Zepher was only 2 min walk to FW. I would definitely Uber or taxi to the hotel. Its not worth the bother to take the train then walk to your hotel. Loved San Fran.

Have you considered Emeryville, just the other side of the Bay Bridge in Oakland. It is well BART connected to SFO int, Union Sq, Powell etc . For fishermen’s Wharf, you simply get off a Embarcadero (first stop from Emeryville) and walk round, passing the Alcatraz embarkation point on the way.

BART is really easy to use and Emeryville much better value than most of SFO. The other suggestion is to stay near SFO int and use the BART to get in every day. You can stop at Powell and catch the tram.. or continue round to Embarcadero.

Either way, you should save vastly more than your transit fares whilst staying in much better accommodation.

We’ve stayed at Pier 2620 at Fisherman’s Wharf several times, it’s very well situated and the rooms are lovely. Make sure you visit the Hollywood Cafe for breakfast, it’s
a 2min walk away.

I will be going to Disneyland solo for 4 days before the trip as my mum will be flying out to meet me as i work out there during the summer months, then we are doing LA for 3 nights, then flying up to san fran for 3 nights. We would love to do the panic coast highway but unable to drive due to epilepsy. we will then be flying to vegas for 5 nights. We have to go to LA first due to thats the only place virgin fly to direct now from manchester. I have done all these places before by myself but will be my mums first time.
