American Airlines Dublin to Orlando
Having been a seasoned Aer Lingus traveller I'm disappoint in the price of their flights next year compared to their American counter parts,
I'm looking at Dublin to MCO with a transfer in American Airlines Hub in Charlottesville traveling with AA, Has anyone experienced this router before ? what was the transfer process like and I suppose more importantly are American Airlines any good compared to Aer Lingus / BA |

Would be interested in replies to this too Jason. I went with then once maybe 10 years ago and I remember water dripping onto me from the ceiling. I wasn't impressed. We went with AL to Gatwick and the BA out to Orlando. I was impressed with BA but the journey home is a killer. Flying over Ireland to sit for 2 hours and fly back of Irish Sea..we swore never again. AL have it sown up with direct route but we are paying a premium for it. We are hoping to go August next I am watching prices and currently it €3.5k for the 4 of us.

I'd be worried they will pull that route as Charlotte is a secondary airport and the route is currently suspended. AA have also suspended Dallas from Dublin for winter and I wouldn't personally put money on Charlotte coming back quickly when the borders are open. So I'd only go ahead if you are okay with them rerouting you through whichever route they open up.

Would fly with AA anytime, think they are great. Charlotte is an AA hub so its usually quite busy and a reasonable sized airport. Lots of eateries on a layover. However, would suggest at least 2 1/2 to 3 hour layover at Charotte.

We flew EDI-DUB-MCO with AA a couple of years ago. Flew Ryanair from Edinburgh to Dublin overnight at PI then AA PE to MCO via Charlotte returning via Philadelphia. Wouldn't hesitate to go this route again.

We've connected through Charlotte, Philadelphia and Chicago with AA before and never had any issues. Also look at United, they are usually competitive.

Flew AA Dub-CLT-MCO a few times and it’s a great route. Found the service on AA to be excellent. Charlotte is a really quick and easy airport to connect through and as it’s an AA hub so I wouldn’t worry too much about short connection times. The last time we were actually flying onwards from the same gate we arrived at! Highly recommend this route.

My family and I did this route 2 years ago and found it so easy. We did the pre-clearance at Dublin and literally just walked from one part of the airport to the gate for the next plane in Charlotte. We did have to wait in Charlotte for an hour the plane was delayed, but if the price was right I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
