We had a very similar situation. Mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer ( very strong lady, never really been ill, it was such a shock), full hysterectomy and she started to rally but a month later they said the cancer had returned like a ‘tiger’ and there was no hope. She battled through 3 chemo sessions that were brutal but sadly we lost her on 31st Oct 2 yrs ago. She was 71 and her and dad had been together 53 yrs. We were utterly bereft and still are, but we can now remember her with a smile-at first that was so hard to do. The funeral was so hard but so beautiful as well, she had planned it- it killed us as the time but we were so grateful she did, my lovely older brother did the most beautiful eulogy we were so so proud. It still kills me to see dad on his own, he is lost without her, we all are but we are closer than ever which is what she would have wanted. I’m so sorry you are going through this, especially at this time, my heart goes out to you all..💔 just take every day as it comes, the firsts of everything are brutal, that first Christmas without her was so so hard but last year we managed to raise a glass and a lovely smile to her memory. It hurts so much but in time you will feel a little better, I still cry, I still miss her so much but 2 years is early days in my mind. Love to you all at this very very sad time.❤️

Oh i'm so sorry

We lost my mum in 2018 to lung cancer, and for a long while I struggled to remember her without thinking of all the sad times. It's almost 3 years, and I can now look back fondly and smile at my amazing memories. As another poster said it's still early days, but time is an amazing healer.

You'll get through this, and so will your Dad. You and your family are stronger than you realise.

So sorry to hear about your mum Cancer is a cruel disease Both my husband & daughter died at 43yrs old from cancer
