Thanks for the replies. DD's school have suggested hoodies might be £20 & £4 to personalise and yearbooks £24. Just thought the yearbooks could probably have been done cheaper or digitally for less but maybe we're out of touch with costs?! Quite happy to pay for the hoodie as I think DD will wear it but can see the yearbook just gathering dust!

This year we gave all our Year 6's a free leavers hoodie in lieu of end of year celebrations, they cost £18 and kindly paid for by our parent fundraisers so £20/£22 is about right for one. Our school photographer usually supplies us with free photo autograph books for our Yr 6's too.

Has your school also asked you to confirm that you are happy to have your child's name on the leaver list that most have on the hoodie?

A number of schools got into bother last year for not getting permission to include the name of pupils on their leaver merchandise. If they had given them away it wouldn't have been an issue, but as they are sold, the information becomes a DPA and GDPR issue and so they need permission to use the names from each child and parent.

This is why our local school isn't doing leaving clothing anymore - too much hassle
