Laptop fan suddenly noisy?

I'm guessing it needs cleaning out, but I know from past attempts I can't get the back off. There are two screws I can't budge. I've had the hoover up to the air vents and I also blow as hard as I can into them - quite a bit of dust flies out. What else can I do? any ideas on how to get the back off?

buy a can of compressed air, unplug laptop, take battery off and squirt the air into the vents.

Be careful with this approach. Compressed air has a massive cooling effect, and may also generate moisture.
