can you go earlier, and be coming home by Thursday 29th may? Until the Thursday it will lovely and quiet - but 29th May is Ascension day, a major public holiday in France, and it makes that whole long weekend one of DLPs busiest of the year.

We're off May half term thanks to the changes in term time holiday guidelines. Driving down on the Saturday to Ashford got a night in the premier inn then euro tunnel in the morning. I realised after we'd booked about Ascension Thursday but hopefully we get a few good days before it gets busy.

May half term is my favourite time to go.

The weather is usually lovely and the crowds are manageable

That's great to hear as the last time my wife and I went in 2007 it was without kids. I'm so excited to be going again.
