Gatwick Testing - is this right?

Just been listening to Sussex Radio.

So the Covid Test sight will be set up on the Car Park at the South Terminal.

Results in 24 hours?

Whats all that about?

Seems pretty pointless given it takes 24 hrs to get your results back.

Seems a bit crackers to me, if it's intended to support the airline industry pre vaccine.

Considering they have just closed all the schools in NY.

I agree it is crackers. I would agree once cases have dropped and many have had the vaccine.

So if you have a flight at 3pm, arrive at your airport hotel the day before and get a test in the morning. Hopefully result in by the time you check in for the flight? If it works that could be brilliant.

Absolutely and conversely if the result is delayed you cannot check in or fly resulting in an un-insured loss ?

Or you fly with result pending and if positive have the virus in a foreign location ? Insurance cover if you fly whilst positive?
