Changing the name of a link

Anyone know how to do this please? I wanted to put a link to my trip report index with the title of the trip report but it keeps telling me I cant link to external sites even though its all on the dibb

Any ideas?

You type the title, highlight it and then click the picture of the world with the paperclip on it and paste in the link.

it looks like this
