Taking a digital passport photo at home
Jeez what a flipping FAFF
I have taken (no joke!) over 400 photos (to be fair when I do it using my watch as the remote it does burst mode and takes 10 photos which I didn't realise!) and tried to submit 7 different ones... they keep getting "low quality" flagged and told it probably wont be accepted! I've even used my daughters light ring when it said to dark for one of the reasons! No shadows on the wall or my face, hair has been put behind my ears, no smiles - No joy! I'm going to need to find a booth I think that gives a digital code as all the photo shops are closed but I need to do my application ASAP before the system gets clogged up! |

I had exactly the same problem and ended up using the photo booth in the post office as that had the digital code and it was really easy to do.

After trying numerous times to get my photo accepted, I used
passport-photo.online/en-gb/...t-online-photo Accepted without any problem. Hilary |

Good to know thanks - I am going to hunt for a photobooth one that does a digital code tomorrow!
I used my iphone as well (XS Max so it's got a good camera on it!) in front of the plain light grey wall in my bedroom, lots of natural light coming in - it wouldn't have it! |

I must have been lucky, took a selfie against a white wall (had to move around a bit to try and get the shadow covered by my head lol) but it accepted the first upload and it’s on its way back to me a week later

I did a digital passport one, as was struggling to take one myself without showing shadows, went to a photo booth in Morrisons which does passport photos with a digital code, and when uploaded the photo they advised that may not be accepted due to the background colour?
I sent it regardless advising that l got the photo done from a photo booth that did photos for passports etc. Am currently waiting for it to be either accepted or rejected. |

Thanks will take a look at this
Haha I had DD's tripod set up and the lot! Did you get enough image in for the selfie as it said you needed top half of the body (although they then did crop it to just the face!) oh that is a bit poor if it's take at a booth! Fingers crossed it gets accepted for you! |

I hate passport photos, it's really hard not to look like a convict
I might try again then and do a Selfie version and then upload it via that link Hillbilly sent - mine basically looks like yours does and was right at the bottom of the acceptable scale and said basically don't bother sending it |
