Bamboo warning! It can spread through your lawn, and come up in spikes, everywhere. Keep it contained in a pot.

I love Weigelas, we have a florida weigela with beautiful abundant pink flowers, and a ruby one with dark red flowers.

Also, hydraengeas can be bold and beautiful but need a lot of water.

Agree with red robins they are a favourite in our garden.
We have just bought some tall growing grasses for the back of the garden , they grow to 120cm .
How about potting some lavender? It’s hardy and smells beautiful

I’m trying to do something the same Sandra and got a few new shrubs. My best bet for filling a space is a Rhododendron- won’t get too high maybe 3ft but it’s evergreen and quite bushy. Will have a two-tone flower but there are lots of colours available. Tall enough to have flowers in front of it.

Splendid star grasses.

We have taken cuttings from our red robins and planted in different parts of the garden .
You can buy the meadow flower seeds from B&M , HomeBargains for a few pounds , they are great to fill in gaps between shrubs . Also they come on really well in planters . The mixture of colours is lovely 😊
