Most people drive through Great Gonerby (on the old Great North Road) but actually it is a stunning village. Superb transport link (A1 and near Grantham ) great stone houses/cottages, a Michelin * restaurant, wonderful country walks and a nice gentle feel . We lived for a while at Foston as our old house was being worked on and it was noisy from A1, boring (not much there ) and lacked character so choose carefully.

Lincolnshire has so much to offer - its a good affordable choice

I've lived in Lincolnshire most of my life, as others say, Stamford really is the A* place to live, but prices reflect that. Bourne is close by to Stamford and very nice, followed by Market Deeping. We live in a village close to Spalding but wouldn't rec Spalding myself. Lincoln is a lovely place too... plenty to choose from.

But my top 2 are:
Stamford (pricey but gorgeous, vintage shops, stunning historic buildings, great eateries)

Bourne (Less money than Stamford but area still v good. good array of shops, Bourne woods for leisure, good schools, and links elsewhere)

xx

Hi

We’ve lived in Grantham for the last 15 years. Not natives but have definitely come to think of it as home. If a village on the outskirts of one of the towns would suit then I would recommend Londonthorpe or Great Gonerby for Grantham. Navenby is lovely between Grantham and Lincoln. Long Bennington is a lovely village just off the A1, as is Claypole.

Some lovely pubs in Long Bennington.

I have “out laws” in Syston (near Barkston) and its great there too

Grew up around Grantham - the young farmers was always fun and for “oldies’ lots of village cricket
