Most people drive through Great Gonerby (on the old Great North Road) but actually it is a stunning village. Superb transport link (A1 and near Grantham ) great stone houses/cottages, a Michelin * restaurant, wonderful country walks and a nice gentle feel . We lived for a while at Foston as our old house was being worked on and it was noisy from A1, boring (not much there ) and lacked character so choose carefully.
Lincolnshire has so much to offer - its a good affordable choice |

I've lived in Lincolnshire most of my life, as others say, Stamford really is the A* place to live, but prices reflect that. Bourne is close by to Stamford and very nice, followed by Market Deeping. We live in a village close to Spalding but wouldn't rec Spalding myself. Lincoln is a lovely place too... plenty to choose from.
But my top 2 are: Stamford (pricey but gorgeous, vintage shops, stunning historic buildings, great eateries) Bourne (Less money than Stamford but area still v good. good array of shops, Bourne woods for leisure, good schools, and links elsewhere) xx |

Hi
We’ve lived in Grantham for the last 15 years. Not natives but have definitely come to think of it as home. If a village on the outskirts of one of the towns would suit then I would recommend Londonthorpe or Great Gonerby for Grantham. Navenby is lovely between Grantham and Lincoln. Long Bennington is a lovely village just off the A1, as is Claypole. |
