Passport renewal times now

I’m in a dilemma. Our passports are fine for the US this august but if it gets cancelled we can’t use them for Europe which is our plan B (probably first week September).

Has anyone renewed their passports recently, if so how long did they take? Website says it can take 10 weeks which would mean we wouldn’t get them back if our US holiday comes off.

My friend did a fortnight ago and they came back in 2 weeks.

About 3 weeks for mine last month

I did mine recently and I got 2 of 3 back in about 10 days, the third one took about week later but it was over the bank holiday weekend.

Did you just take photos on your phones?

I did online on 4th June, passport posted back same day and received on 5th ( able to track receipt). Checked progress and says documents received 9th !
No further word. It’s as bad as doing your esta 😂 just want to know the pic is approved

I used a Photo booth in a shopping centre £6
You get 4 pics & a reference code for your online application, all went very smoothly

We did ours a couple of weeks back and they came back 8 days later. Couldn’t get a decent picture on our phones so used the local photographer and he gave us a code, plus the pictures. All very easy & quick.

I did mine, ds and dd, mine and ds back in 2 weeks, dd still waiting now been 8 weeks.

Take the photos on your phone, no need to waste money on a booth or photographer.

Just as likely to get the quality message with the paid for routes as doing it yourself.
