Outdoor decorations
Do you put decorations up outside? If so what do you have?
We had quite a few Christmas silhouettes on the front of our house & icicles when our children were little, they loved the big switch on lol but one by one they have broken. Last year we only had icicles and my middle son was really upset about it. So we are making more of a effort this year but they are so expensive! I picked up two silver light up reindeer for under the playroom window but we need something for in the brickwork. So looking for inspiration. I am thinking white for a winter wonderland feel ❄️ |

We have various displays that we alternate with.
Last year we had a tree of just lights in the middle of the garden with the lights that look like it’s snowing from the roof. Plus our log reindeer that DH made and the log snowmen he made. The year before it was a wooden tree with lights on plus the wooden reindeer and snowmen. This year it’s a 6ft light up snowman and a 6 ft inflatable Christmas tree plus the snow falling lights.

We have a door wreath, an outside tree and a couple of big candle lanterns.

Change of plan, think we are going with this and the wooden reindeer and snowmen. DH is half way through making the pallet trees and we’re going to buy the poles and garland for the other later today! The pole tree will go in the middle of the garden.

We have a small Christmas tree planted in the front garden which we put lights on.
We put lights around the windows in the dining room hall and living room and that's it but I was looking at the light up candy canes but don't want to make the house look naff.

I love our road at Christmas. Most houses put up lights - we all have the same white icicle lights around garage and front doors and ground floor windows. Some have them on the gable ends. Then each house adds our own bits. I drape lights in the hedge and a small tree and this year I’ve got one of those light-up sleigh and reindeer.
We have a lighting up party on 1st Dec and from then on, all the lights come on at 4pm and go off at 11pm. Some of us have trouble getting our timers in sync ! |

We used to live on a street where evetyone made a big effort, people drove to look at the lights - it was lovely. But we have moved to a close with only one house with older children. I cant see anyone making an effort, but we will put some lights up (decide the move was a good excuse to stop DH climbing a ladder to the roof so I don't have to stop him in a few years due to age/mobility) - we have decided lights around the porch and over the garage, but trying to decide what else, maybe a tree decorated outside the door?

We have previously had lights on outlr big tree, small fir tree and a lit reindeer. However, last year they all died, lights, not trees!
This year we have purchased a snow flake projector. Just want to put it up now. |
