Chocolate fondue ideas
Good evening
It's my son's birthday on Friday, and also our wedding anniversary ❤. We're getting a takeaway from our favourite Turkish restaurant and I have bought a fondue set to have a chocolate fondue afterwards. I figured it was an investment! And we could use it for cheese and meats as well. So far, I've thought of waffles, strawberries and marshmallows to dip in. Has anyone got any other brilliant ideas please? Or had anything amazing at a restaurant that worked really well? TIA x |

We do strawberries, grapes ,marshmallow ,banana and coconut macaroons
A chocolate fondue pan is different from a cheese or meat one though. So you wont get a good result if you use it for that, plus you would taste the oil. I usually put a drop of Tia maria in the chocolate one too |

Really? Oh dear! It says "meat/ cheese/ chocolate" on the description. I guess we need to hope for the best. I've bought pouches of Belgian fondue chocolate to use, so maybe I need to test them first to see if they're oily.
Anyways, as long as the main flavour is chocolate, I'm sure we'll enjoy it Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I've added lots of items to my shopping list 👍🏻 |

It wont taste oily, but if you use the pan for a meat fondue , then use it again for chocolate then it would be like using a chip pan, it will taint the chocolate, that's what I meant.
The pans differ, stainless steel is best for meat due to the high temperature needed to cook the meat, Cast iron is best for cheese as it doesnt want to get too hot or it just gets overcooked. And chocolate can be done in a smaller pan, My late friend was Belgian and she taught us how to do fondue, we have actually worn out a few pans over the last 40 years, best place to buy them are car boot sales and charity shops. We did do a chinese style one once that was cooked in a broth but none of us really liked that one. If you do a meat one ,you cant beat the packet sauces from Holland made by Duyvis, so many flavours and everyone lovely. Good luck it's a great way to eat. |
