Planning for 2022 - Disney Resort Benefits?

EMH - Gone (30 minutes early isnt a benefit and we preferred the evening extra hours anyway)

Magical Express - Gone

Magic Bands - No longer free

Dining Plans - Gone

60 day FPs - Gone

Free Car parking - Gone

What is left as a perk, what is Disney playing at.

We have had plenty of friends and family turn up to parks early and let in even while not staying at a Disney resort. Maybe only 10 minutes or so, but still makes 30 minutes meaningless.

All I see is cost cutting and price increases.

We accept about paying a premium at staying in a Disney Resort compared to some places outside of Disney, but the Perks really did help sway us.

Dining plans and fastpass were withdrawn for Covid reasons. There’s no way to say they won’t be back for 2022.

Easy quick transport options to the parks
Disney theming and service
An app that will do what the magic band did anyway
Car not a necessity if staying onsite so parking charges won’t apply

Dining plans were never actually free they just upped overall holiday cost to absorb it

Fast passes are gone for now but irrelevant as we can’t go atm anyway

Can you charge to the room on the App at any till like you can with the magic band?

I think paid dining plans will return but I don’t think free dining will any time soon sadly. Personally I don’t think the perks add up to the costs anymore and our on-site days are over. This makes me sad because we loved staying on-site with free dining for at least part of our trip but cannot justify the cost.

60 days FP and dining plans are not gone for 2022.

As for off site guests being allowed in 10 mins early this will not happen now.

May be let into a holding area but will not be allowed to move on from there until opening time.

In the past this is the same if EMH at that park... but if normal day with no EMH then yes sometimes they let people in before advertised opening.

I don’t know. Probably by the time we can all go they would have that as a feature

You can use Apple Pay though
We found paying with magic bands last time very glitchy and we had to go to reception many times to sort as well as being in parks unable to buy lunch as payment was suspended

Actually that was a big problem when we went in 2019 the way Disney introduced the new room holds was a nightmare...

Weighing up my 2022 trip. We have DVC to cover 1st week but usually would pay to stay onsite for rest of time.
But cost wise, a nice villa off here is £1000 for 2 weeks in Aug. OKW 1BR is £5000 and that’s with free nights, should be £7500. Inclusive DDP is the key perk that needs to be included otherwise it’s not even close.
