New request for PIN on some Sky programmes
Has anyone else had this issue? We’ve noticed a few programmes (including ones we recorded and ones that are on at the time) are now asking for a PIN to watch them. We’ve never noticed before! Is it a change of policy?
How do we find out what our PIN is? And how do we stop programmes from asking for it? |

I have noticed it on more programmes of late, whereas it was only for films in the past.

They have been doing this for a while now. It is when you are viewing post watershed programs before 9pm. Even recordings.
So record a film or TV series that is on after 9pm and watch it at 3pm the next day it will ask for the pin. Edited at 03:36 PM. |

Been like it for a while. Something to do with OFCOM regulations, I think.
Basically it's over 18 intended programs that you're trying to watch before 9pm. Right pain in the ≈≈≈≈ isn't it.

Ah ok. It must be something that has only recently been introduced here in Ireland then (different regulator) as we’ve definitely only had it this year. And I don’t think it’s to do with the watershed as the programme we noticed it first on was Senna, that we’d recorded and it was definitely after 9pm we tried to watch it!
It’s a right pain in the ≈≈≈≈ yes! I’ll have to ring Sky then - what joy! |

Yep, even if you have parental controls switched off it will still require the pin.

We were advised our preset pin was the last 4 digits on our viewing card( though we don’t seem to have a viewing card with sky q now). I think we’ve been able to find it in settings.

No children in our house so we changed our pin to 1111. Nice and easy to remember and we've usually got remotes within reaching distance.

Our pin is the same is the one I use to log into the account on line when I want to add something to Never Miss so it reminds me when that film or Series will be showing.

I’ll have a look on the card and see if that works first then.
Didn’t they stop the Never Miss option a while ago? |
