Oh well,

Simon Calder was on the news this a.m. saying that President Elect Biden will not loosen the rules on us being able to enter the U.S He intends to make it harder but no indication of a timeframe. Very disappointing but not unexpected. Having said that who would want to go there until they have the virus under better control.☹️

I suspect he is right. However the day I listen to Simon Calder is the day I will give up.

This is the Guy who tells people to get an International Driving Permit for America!

I think Biden really wants to do something about COVID and if that means tightening up the borders (like we are doing) then so be it . It really makes perfect sense - at last

But with the rollout of vaccine this side of the Atlantic speeding up (a way to go yet in USA unfortunately) and I think he wants to do a lot more in the USA with mask wearing and taking covid seriously then hopefully not for too on many months and we all all relax and enjoy travelling again, albeit differently until atleast the end of this year.

I have a low opinion of Simon Calder - he appeared in the March/April lockdown advising people on loopholes to enable them to travel.

Strangely the first person I actually know to get the vaccine was a fellow owner on LB so they are definitely vaccinating over there.
At what rate of course I have no idea.

I’m not a fan of Simon Calder - on several occasions he has given out of date information or been just plain wrong.

I know they are vaccinating but certainly not at the rate we are or indeed have the range of vaccines afforded to us. I have yet to know one of my friends in California to receive it yet I know quite a few in UK have or have dates (like me) - California is REALLY in a bad place right now and Biden promises to help them (and I believe he will)

Vaccines and Covid 19 apart, I’ve written off 2021 already for a return to Florida. I’m not sure it looks attractive either until we know what the overall impact will be as the new administration beds in...

The overall “experience” of Florida will have to improve before I return too.

U.K. holiday this year I think.
