Thomson have cancelled our premium seats
Really disappointed we are due to fly from Birmingham next month and we have just had email notification that there are no longer any premium seats on our outbound flight .
Apparently we still get the 23kg luggage allowance and seats together, but that's about it. They will refund us the cost of the premium seats for the outbound flight. We have been allocated 3 seats in the middle row, and the seat configuration is 2-4-2, so hopefully we will have a spare seat next to us. Has this happened to anyone else in the past? We're really disappointed. |

Yes this happened to us last year but we kept our original seats it just didnt have a premium area. We also got upgraded films and free drinks. I was so disappointed but all in all it wasnt too bad and we got premium on the way back.
I must say though Thomson were awfull with the refund, we got told 2 days before our flight and was told it would be back on the card i paid with by the time we got back. When we got back i had no money so i called and was told they were waiting to make sure we got premium on the return and would refund within 14 days. Still no money after 14 days so i called again, i was then told it was because i hadnt called and requested the money! So i requested it there and then even though i had not been told this before, we then waited a further 10 days and we received a cheque which we then had to wait to clear. There were 6 of us so a fair bit of money returned. Hope you have a fab holiday. |

it was a worry we had back in 2010 when one of their 767s was grounded and they were using replacements with no premium. turned out ok for us in the end but i do feel for you. Fingers crossed you get that empty seat.

We asked about the free drinks and they said we would have to pay for them now. We are really gutted. I'm guessing it's likely to be an older plane too.

I started a thread on here 11 months ago when this happened to us, but only a couple of days before the flight. I was really upset and people on here were very helpful and supportive.
My guess is that the extra seat is your 'freebie'. It worked out well for us because we had a small separate section with lots of spare seats, still got the premium service and the refund. In fact it actually turned out better than the return flight when we did get our Premium seats simply because the fixed armrests were a nuisance when trying to get a toddler and a baby to sleep. Thomson handled it as well as they could but I did say at the time I would not be using them again and I won't. I agree with the poster who said they take their time with the refund. Hope it turns out well for you.

You'd think they'd honour the free drinks!
We fly PE from Birmingham, so I've got my fingers crossed now. Do you still get PE coming back?

Yes they said we will have premium seats coming back, although I'm not holding my breath now.
They can't guarantee that the 4th seat will be free on the day, although it is at the moment. Pootie, did you get free drinks, premium food and upgraded IFE still? |

I wouldn't expect 'free' drinks when they're refunding the upgrade premium. It would be different if they were only refunding part of the premium payment.
