Disney Springs is this old Downtown Disney?
Not been for a few years so am i right in assuming that Disney Springs is just Downtown Disney as was? Any new additions or anything different there?

So yes and no. It is the same thing but very different. Loads more restaurants and shops. Includes what I think is a very nice shopping mall too. Done very pretty. Still has the old favourite shops too, like the Christmas shop, world of Disney etc.

You are right :-)
The central area is very very different, with a big lot of new construction, shops and restaurants. The Marketplace is mostly unchanged - though they have built a bridge to ease congestion between Marketplace and the area by what was Fulton's. Parking now is mostly in a multi storey. There's probably lots of other differences but those are the ones in my head right now.

Excited about Disney

Oh my goodness so much has happened at Disney Springs it's hard to know where to begin. Loads more restaurants and a whole lot of very nice, fairly high end shops. The whole area is bigger, better and great to spend time in. We got slightly lost when we went back there last year as it had been a couple of years before when we went there. I always love just walking round there, it's great

You are right that Disney Springs was Downtown Disney, but you will hardly recognise it now. It's undergone a massive redevelopment over the last few years, as has the road system and parking lots servicing the whole area.
Old favourites such as the Lego and Disney stores remain and the Marketplace end remains relatively unchanged, but the Cirque end and particularly the central area are much bigger than they were with many high end, high priced shops. It also seems much busier now but I guess that was the intention, to bring in more $$$. It's definitely worth a visit but whether you think the changes are for the better is subjective. Debra

We haven't been since Nov 2015 when it was a bit of a building site but as others have said you won't recognise the place now.
Here's the new map https://www.thedibb.co.uk/web_images/maps/DDMap.pdf We are looking forward to our next visit sometime later this month for our traditional EoS lunch Mick

Downtown Springs is a combination Downtown Disney (not much has changed) plus a total revamp of Pleasure Island (everything has changed) and Westside (where some things have changed).
